Its best to leave every country to conduct its business...Interfering or poking in the judicial system of any other country#s may bring disastrous results....Its because of this the so called left liberals are mocked and laughed at everywhere especially in the Muslim and developing, middle income world ...Tey donot have any right to sermonize other countries regarding how they should conduct themselves..The grandfathers of these left liberals might have been the most genocidal racists..So its time for this left liberals and their Indian asslickers like Sluttundhati Roy to get off their high horses...These sort of women more than ready to give cunnilingus to Feminazi Wetsern Left liberal women..I wonder whther Sluttundhatti Roy or others of her ilk would be ready to suck the dick of a black,short,pock marked faced tribal...These Sluttundhatis wouldnot touch Tribal men with a barge pole

Growth of Islamic radicalism in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and various other countries is pretty much due to the US and it's foreign policy. Radical Hindutva, on the other hand, was worse than radical Islam; it is still as bad. Never forget the custom of Sati where fresh widows were burnt alive with the dead husbands on the same funeral pyre, mainly to appropriate the property of the dead husbands. This is way more inhuman than burying someone chest deep and stoning for adultery. In the latter case, at least there is a cause of the penalty. In addition, according to Sharia, rights of Muslim women are protected to a large extent. For example, a suitable alimony is awarded to the divorced wife. Talking of BJP, it has dragged India back to the middle age. Someone said somewhere in my weblog, "He is a proud Indian". Haha. Nationality is something not to be very proud of. Nationalism divides people. It is born out of inherent prejudice and racism. More so if that particular nation is still unable to hang a chief minister who cold-bloodedly murdered thousands of people from a minority group and still moves scot-free. At least in that respect, I have occasion to be proud when the US did not grant him visa to pollute this land.

@realist: It seems, from your language, that you are just another shit-head bastard who has been indoctrinated into all vicious prejudices of the world. Get your act together and talk in perspective. I saw the message sent in a mail to me by Jemima Khan, and posted that on my blog without verification of the fact. Sometimes, media find some sadistic pleasure in portraying Islamic world in such a bad light. It sells. Because of the urgency of the event, I posted it.

I would probably clamor my protest as loudly for the release of Sakineh as for a fair trial of Afzal Guru. OK.

It was I who said I am a proud Indian. It is definitely less pathetic than being proud of some other country that has accepted you as a refugee and let you stay on, and then mocking your own.

Coming to Hindutva, your thoughts are incoherent. Let's put it this way. Suppose I say, "Mimi Sen is an incontinent pervert who used to shit her clothes and enjoy sitting in them for hours." If you react angrily, I can probably find some eyewitnesses who have actually seen you do it. Yet, you are respected (I expect) in society like a normal human being today. Why? Because, although you did poop your diapers at some point in the past, you have been now taught that it is not an appropriate thing to do and have learnt to stop that practice. You changed your old ways, became more mature and nobody discriminates against you because you did a lot of bad things in your childhood, right?

The same with Hinduism. I will not waste my breath trying to explain WHY Sati had started in the first place - read it up somewhere. But the important point is that we accepted it as wrong and learnt to abolish it. Hinduism is thus an ever-changing, ever-maturing religion. That is something that cannot be said of your favourite "religion of peace." Now this ramble about saving that woman from stoning (good to know that you feel "there is a cause of the penalty"), it is very nice and all to do it on the Internet hiding behind Obama. I dare you to land in a country that has your beloved Shariya law and say the same thing. :-)

Look at your own Hypocrisy - you protest the hanging of Kasab and Afzal Guru, and yet support it for Modi and Saddam. Not that I say Modi should not be hanged - see the difference between you and me. You support one side and oppose the other. I support or oppose CAUSES irrespective of which side they are on. I oppose the stoning of this woman because it is against humanity, and it has nothing to do with being Hindu or Muslim. You, on the other hand, must blame the US and its policies, India, radical Hindutva and whatnot and then justify Shariya before you do it. Who is the radical here?

Thanks JS for putting across these points succinctly.
I started writing, and stopped when I felt that hopelessness that you feel when arguing with a complete bigot.

@J.S.

It seems you have no idea on how immigration process is carried out in a foreign country. "Refugee" is special status not everybody is eligible for. For example, Taslima Nasrin was a refugee in Sweden till before she was accorded the citizenship. It seems increasingly difficult to continue a discussion with a kid like you. Grow up. Read books. Mingle with people of various cultures. Otherwise your world-view won't be expanded and you will continue to talk like a bigot like this.

Haha! That's the best you could come up with? Really? After thinking for half a week? Now you split hairs on the definition of a term that is way off topic... good evasive face-saving tactics Mimi. I'll let you escape this time out of sheer chivalry. :-)
